Types of Vaccines Shawano Offers:
Influenza and COVID-19, plus select routine vaccines (e.g., HPV, Tdap/Td, pneumococcal) where available and based on eligibility. Pharmacists can also administer injectable medications and vaccines prescribed by a physician or nurse practitioner (e.g., Shingrix, Twinrix, RSV vaccine) for patients over 5 years of age.

Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility for COVID-19 vaccination and boosters may change from season to season based on Manitoba Health guidance. We will update eligibility criteria at the start of each respiratory virus season. Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations are generally available for individuals 2 years of age and older, based on current Manitoba Health guidelines.

how to prepare for your appointment
Things you need to know:
- Bring your Manitoba Health card.
- Complete consent form (before appointment).
- Wear a short-sleeved shirt for easy access to upper arm.
- If you're sick or have a fever ... RESCHEDULE.
- Plan to stay after the short for observation (15 minutes).

- BENEFITS: Vaccination lowers the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death from influenza and COVID-19.
- COMMON SIDE EFFECTS: Usually mild and short-lived, most commonly soreness / redness / swelling at the injection site, sometimes fatigue / fever for a day or two.
- SERIOUS REACTIONS: Severe allergic reactions are uncommon. Staf are trained to respond, which is why observation is highly recommended afterwards.
